So, back in 2020…

..The Unseen World began as a small-cast musical, written to be performed on the stage of Ira Marlowe’s tiny Berkeley, California performance space, The Monkey House.  When Covid made that impossible, he looked for talent online and what he discovered amazed him — highly accomplished actors all over the country who, prior to the plague, had been performing in serious Broadway and film roles! Eureka!  Auditions were held on Zoom, the show was cast – scripts, songs and scores were shared, and actors were directed (again, via Zoom) while recording in their own home studios. An odyssey of technology and talent that truly got us through the 100 year pandemic.

So, about the show…

The Unseen World begins with Miri, a former physics student with an uncanny sense of the world around her, trying to come to terms with the point of existence. Her journey through a tangle of parallel universes, and the relationships she forges along the way, transform both her understanding of matter, and what matters.

Poignant, hilarious, occasionally bawdy, and always surprising, The Unseen World is a raucous and heartfelt ride that might be described as The Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy meets The Rocky Horror Picture Show meets The Who’s Tommy.

Featuring an incredible score by Ira Marlowe and an enormously talented cast including Deborah Geffner (“All That Jazz”, “The Morning Show”, “Mad Men”, “Scandal”), John Shortt (Pagliacci, Otello, Carmen, Samson et Dalila, Fidelio, Die Walkure, Aida, Il Trovatore and Turandot) and humorist Jesenia (STARZ’ "Power Book III: Raising Kanan", “The Affair”, “The Guestbook”).

We hope you will join us in The Unseen World. Thank you for visiting! Thank you for listening!
